The Pentagon's poll on "don't ask, don't tell" is beyond idiotic

Today's military features "victim advocates" and sensitivity training facilitators, the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services personnel and a million other goo-goo positions. How did we ever take the shores of Normandy without a phalanx of "sensitivity training" counselors?

The real TRUTH about the WAR

The WikiLeaks de facto declassification of privileged material makes it case closed: Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction -- and intended to restart his program once the heat was off!

The WikiLeaks Vindication of George W. Bush

Why do the POOR stay POOR???

Of the 6 billion people on Earth, 2 billion try to survive on a few dollars a day. They don't build businesses, or if they do, they don't expand them. Unlike people in the United States, Europe and Asian countries like Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, etc., they don't lift themselves out of poverty. Why not? What's the difference between them and us???

Small Business Killers

There is no such thing as a "free" government benefit. Ask small-business owners who are footing skyrocketing bills for bottomless jobless benefits. While politicians in Washington negotiate a deal to provide welcome temporary payroll, income and estate tax relief to America's workers, struggling employers wonder how long they'll have to pay for the compassion of others -- and whether they can survive!!!

Support Free Speech

In the wake of commentator Juan Williams' feckless firing by National Public Radio, supporters on the Internet sounded a cheeky rallying cry: "Free Juan!" But Williams has now been liberated from the government-funded media's politically correct shackles. It's taxpayers who need to be untethered from NPR and other state-sponsored public broadcasting.
Public radio and public television are funded with your money to the tune of some $400 million in direct federal handouts and tax deductions for contributions made by individual viewers, not to mention untold state grants and subsidies. Supporters argue that this amounts to a tiny portion of state-sponsored media's overall budget, and an even tinier portion of the overall federal budget!

Fools Rush in Where Europe Rushes Out

As of this writing, France is paralyzed. By the time you read this, it might be in flames.
In Britain, where politics is more polite but the problems are perhaps just as dire, the government is proposing budget cuts on a scale not seen for nearly a century.
In Greece, well, the less said about Greece the better.
All of these countries -- and many more -- are going through painful retrenchments because they spent too much money, made too many promises and expected too little from their own citizens. The era of European austerity is upon us, because the Europeans -- or at least those in charge -- understand the mess they've made of their economies!

Supreme Court Justice Alito Plans to Skip Next State of Union Address

When Supreme Court justices enter the House of Representatives in their black robes for the president's next State of the Union address,Samuel Alito does not plan to be among them.
The justice said the annual speech to Congress has become very political and awkward for the justices, who he says are expected to sit "like the proverbial potted plant."
It is so sad the way this Republic is currently being ripped apart! May God Bless the Republic until the elections in 2010 and 2012!!!

Government Set to Announce Second Year of $1 Trillion-Plus Deficit

The Congressional Budget Office is projecting that the deficit for the 2010 budget year that ended Sept. 30 will total $1.29 trillion. That's down by $125 billion from the $1.4 trillion in 2009 -- the highest deficit on record!!!

Exporting U.S. jobs!

Oh, this is side-splitting: After exporting U.S. jobs, importing foreign debt and kowtowing to global thugs shamelessly over the past two years, the Obama administration is now playing the America First card. Democrats deserve a Guinness World Record award for their election-season cognitive dissonance!!!

Government Greed

Those who are always accusing people in the private sector of "greed" almost never accuse government of greed, no matter what it does. Indeed, the question of whether the government is greedy almost never comes up, so most of us probably never think about it!!!

Tax, Spend and Shovel

Back in early 2009, President-elect Barack Obama was asked on "Meet the Press" how quickly he could create jobs. Oh, very fast, he said. He'd already consulted with a gaggle of governors, and "all of them have projects that are shovel-ready." When Obama revealed the members of his energy team, he explained that they were part of his effort to get started on "shovel-ready projects all across the country." When he unveiled his education secretary, he assured everyone that he was going to get started "helping states and local governments with shovel-ready projects."

U.S. Chamber of Commerce

The White House attack on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce isn't about "disclosure." It's about disarmament. While posing as campaign finance champions, the ultimate goal of the Democratic offensive is to intimidate conservative donors, chill political free speech and drain Republican coffers!!!

Ground Zero Debate

The question is not if the building of the mosque is a right but, is the building of the mosque near the horrific attack site of the Twin Towers something that should be allowed to take place on this site???

I have Muslim friends that I respect & would never show disrespect toward in my life. Radicals attacked the Republic that day 9.11 & wanted to destroy our way of life! They quickly found that all they had accomplished was to awake a sleeping giant!

The Constitution of the Republic allows freedom of religion to all of the citizens of the Republic. It allows people the freedom to speak out in favor or in protest of the debate. That right is clear to everyone in this debate...however, I feel people are so busy asking if we can instead of asking if we should...my opinion is that  the building of the mosque is not a wise decision at the current site. BUILD IT AT ANOTHER LOCATION!!!

Evaluation of the Snowball Effect

It is an undeniable fact that self-confidence plays an extremely important role in one's ability to become successful in any part of life. One thing you probably don't know about self-confidence is that it is very sensitive to our personal experience. This means that low self-confidence tends to get lower and high self-confidence tends to get higher, like a "snowball effect".
Positive Snowball Effect/Cycle:
  • Step 1: Because you have self-confidence, you are more likely to try out new things.
  • Step 2: When you try new things with confidence in yourself, the chances of you succeed are high.
  • Step 3: The more you succeed the more self-confidence you develop.
This cycle repeats itself. As a result, due to positive snowball effect, your self-confidence tends to get higher.
Negative Snowball Effect/Cycle:
  • Step 1: Because you have low self-confidence, you are less likely to try out new things.
  • Step 2: When you finally try out new things, due to the lack of self-confidence, the chances of you succeed are low.
  • Step 3: The more you fail (lack of success) the more self-confidence you kill.
This cycle repeats itself. As a result, due to negative snowball effect, your low self-confidence tends to get lower.

This situation is getting out of control...Israel is one of our longest friends & allies! The treatment that Netanyahu received during his visit is reprehensible! To have a friend, while in your home, feel so uncomfortable to utilize the phone that they leave to go to the Israeli Embassy to assure that the line is not ...being listened too....horrid! This world is turning upside down and 2010 & 2012 must be the Constitutional Conservative take back of the Republic! God Bless us during these dark days ahead!!!

Sarah Palin - The lady that we need to understand!

By Dewie Whetsell,  Alaskan Fisherman!

As posted in comments on Greta's article referencing the MOVEON ad about Sarah Palin!

The last 45 of my 66 years I've spent in a commercial fishing town in Alaska.  I understand Alaska politics but never understood national politics well until this last year.  Here's the breaking point: Neither side of the Palin controversy gets it.  It's not about persona, style, rhetoric, it's about doing things.  Even Palin supporters never mention the things that I'm about to mention here:

1. Democrats forget when Palin was the Darling of the Democrats, because as soon as Palin took the Governor's office away from a fellow Republican and tough SOB, Frank Murkowski, she tore into the Republican's "Corrupt Bastards Club" (CBC) and sent them packing. Many of them are now residing in State housing and wearing orange jump suits The Democrats reacted by skipping around the yard, throwing confetti and singing, "la la la la" (well, you know how they are). Name another governor in this country that has ever done anything similar.

2. Now with the CBC gone, there were fewer Alaskan politicians to protect the huge, giant oil companies here. So she constructed and enacted a new system of splitting the oil profits called "ACES." Exxon (the biggest corporation in the world) protested and Sarah told them, "don't let the door hit you in the stern on your way out." They stayed, and Alaska residents went from being merely wealthy to being filthy rich. Of course, the other huge international oil companies meekly fell in line. Again, give me the name of any other governor in the country that has done anything similar.

3. The other thing she did when she walked into the governor's office is she got the list of State requests for federal funding for projects, known as "pork." She went through the list, took 85% of them and placed them in the
"when-hell-freezes-over" stack. She let locals know that if
we need something built, we'll pay for it ourselves. Maybe she figured she could use the money she got from selling the previous governor's jet because it was extravagant.
Maybe she could use the money she saved by dismissing the governor's cook (remarking that she could cook for her own family), giving back the State vehicle issued to her, maintaining that she already had a car, and dismissing
her State provided security force (never mentioning - I imagine - that she's packing heat herself). I'm still waiting to hear the namesof those other governors.

4. Now, even with her much-ridiculed "gosh and golly"
mannerism, she also managed to put together a totally new approach to getting a natural gas pipeline built which will be the biggest private construction project in the history of North America. No one else could do it although they tried. If that doesn't impress you, then you're trying too hard to be unimpressed while watching her do things like this while baking up a batch of brownies with her other hand.

5. For 30 years, Exxon held a lease to do exploratory drilling at a place called Point Thompson. They made excuses the entire time why they couldn't start drilling. In truth they were holding it like an investment. No governor for 30 years could make them get started. Then, she told them she was revoking their lease and kicking them out. They protested and threatened court action. She shrugged and reminded them that she knew the way to the court house.  Alaska won
again.

6. President Obama wants the nation to be on 25% renewable resources for electricity by 2025. Sarah went to the legislature and submitted her plan for Alaska to be at 50% renewable by 2025. We are already at 25%. I can give you more specifics about things done, as opposed to style and persona. Everybody wants to be cool, sound cool, look cool. But that's just a cover-up. I'm still waiting to hear from liberals the names of other governors who can match what mine has done in two and a half years. I won't be holding my breath.

By the way, she was content to return to AK after the national election and go to work, but the haters wouldn't let her. Now these adolescent screechers are obviously not scuba divers. And no one ever told them what happens when you continually jab and pester a barracuda. Without warning, it will spin around and tear your face off. Shoulda known better.

You have just read the truth about Sarah Palin that sends the media, along with the democrat party, into a wild uncontrolled frenzy to discredit her. I guess they are only interested in skirt chasers, dishonesty, immoral people, liars, womanizers, murderers, and bitter ex-presidents' wives.

So "You go, Girl." I only wish the men in Washington had your guts, determination, honesty, and morals.

I rest my case. Only FOOLS listen to the biased media!
